Dr. Larry Warner serves on the faculty of the Center for Health Promotion and Health Equity and is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Health Services, Policy and Practice. His research and practice focus on the implementation and evaluation of strategies to reduce health disparities and advance health equity.
In addition to his academic appointments, Dr. Warner is a prominent leader in public health; he serves as President of the Rhode Island Public Health Association and chairs the Governor’s Council on Behavioral Health. He brings extensive executive experience to his roles, having previously served as the Chief Impact and Equity Officer at United Way of Rhode Island and as the Strategic Initiative Officer for Health at the Rhode Island Foundation. During the height of the pandemic, he served on Rhode Island's COVID-19 Equity Council and as co-chair of the Commission for Health Advocacy and Equity.
Dr. Warner earned a DrPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a concentration in Health Equity and Social Justice. He also holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Society from Brown University.
