Dr. Larry Warner is the Chief Impact and Equity Officer at United Way of Rhode Island. In this role, he oversees the organization's grantmaking, research and data analytics, innovation, community outreach, 211 helpline, aging and disability resource center, and work to advance racial equity. Before United Way, he was the Strategic Initiative Officer for Health at the Rhode Island Foundation. Dr. Warner is President of the Rhode Island Public Health Association and chairs the Governor’s Council on Behavioral Health. He serves on the board of directors for the Care Transformation Collaborative of Rhode Island, the planning committee of Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, and on several other nonprofit boards and advisory committees. He served previously on Rhode Island's COVID-19 Equity Council and as co-chair of the Rhode Island Commission for Health Advocacy and Equity.
Dr. Warner earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Society and a Master of Public Health degree from Brown University. He earned a Doctor of Public Health degree from The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health with a concentration in Health Equity and Social Justice. His research and practice focus on the implementation and evaluation of strategies to reduce health disparities and advance health equity.
