Mayowa Ajibade is a scholar of 20th and 21st century African literature-in-English and African American literature. He is especially interested in the works and practices of Black experimental writers.
His other scholarly interests include the relationship between politics and literature, literary history, African cinema, African studies, and Black diaspora studies.
His current book project is a relational study of the thought of Bessie Head, Carlene Hatcher Polite, Dambudzo Marechera, and Renee Gladman.
