Madeline Benz, PhD, is an Assistant Professor (Research) at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Clark University (2022) and completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Brown. Her clinical and research interests merge the fields of clinical psychology and public health. Her research aims to improve outcomes for individuals with substance use and psychiatric comorbidities, particularly focusing on risk factors, barriers to care, and intervention development for high-risk populations. Her current work investigates the overlap of substance use and suicidal behaviors to inform preventive interventions.
