I am a Research Scientist at Brown University with expertise in health services research using large-scale administrative and clinical data. I have worked extensively with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial claims, as well as electronic health record (EHR) data, and I focus on rigorous, reproducible methods to turn complex, messy data into evidence that informs policy and practice. I am also a researcher at Mathematica, where I analyze health data across sources.
I hold a PhD in Policy Studies with a specialization in health policy from the University of Maryland, where my dissertation examined the impact of insurance churn on commercial insurance denials. Prior to my doctoral studies, I earned both my BSc and MSc in Economics. My research interests include access to and quality of treatment for opioid use disorder, methadone care and opioid treatment program closures, insurance coverage and churn, and primary health care's evolution in the US.
