Marie-Rachelle Narcisse, Ph.D., MSc, CHCQM, FABQAURP, is a dedicated scholar with a passion for behavioral sleep medicine research and an unwavering commitment to improving the health and well-being of communities, particularly those vulnerable and underserved. She uses quantitative methods to investigate the structural and social determinants of sleep health. In addition to sleep research, she is also interested in how the oral microbiome influences the health of Americans. Her publications cover a wide range of topics, mainly health and healthcare disparities, and access to health services.

Each publication underscores her dedication to contributing to the field of public health.
Over the years, Dr. Marie-Rachelle Narcisse has sharpened her quantitative skills in econometrics, biostatistics, systems dynamic modeling, and agent-based modeling. She has accumulated experience along the translational research continuum, ranging from behavioral economics, clinical research, and community-based participatory research to program evaluation and implementation research, guided by one principle: Health equity.
Dr. Narcisse has earned her Bachelor of Science in Economics at the University of Montreal, laying the foundation for her research in public health. She has earned a Master of Science in Economics, specializing in Economic Evaluation of Projects from the University of Montreal. She has also pursued another specialization in Economics, focusing on International Economics and Finance. Her strong background in economics provides her with a unique perspective on analyzing public health issues. Her thirst for knowledge led her to pursue a Ph.D. in Public Health at the same university. It was during her doctoral studies that she started to develop a keen interest in health disparities and the factors that influence access to healthcare services.Dr. Narcisse's academic pursuits are not limited to economics, as she has also earned a Post-Graduate Certificate in Principles and Practice of Clinical Research from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health School.


Dr. Narcisse is affiliated with Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School. She currently serves as a Research Scientist at Bradley Hospital within the COBRE Center on Sleep and Circadian Rhythms in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Her research in this role is instrumental in advancing our understanding of sleep-related issues in children and adolescents.
Dr. Narcisse's journey also included academic appointments as an Associate Professor in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where she honed her skills in teaching and mentoring. She has also served as a Senior Data Analyst in the Office of Community Health and Research and as an Adjunct Lecturer and Biostatistician at the University of Arkansas; Eleanor Mann School of Nursing. Her roles are varied, reflecting her multidisciplinary approach to public health research.
