Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Clinician Educator

Overview

Dr. Serrano-Gonzalez is an attending physician at the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children's Hospital. She completed her pediatric endocrinology fellowship at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and her pediatric residency at Children's Medical Center/UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. She is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and is double board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Endocrinology. 

Dr. Serrano-Gonzalez co-directs the Insulin Resistance Clinic, with a focus on childhood obesity and cardiometabolic health. She currently engages in clinical research in cardiometabolic risk factors and obesogenic behaviors, and has received funding as a PI on a diversity supplement in this area. She is a co-investigator on the ECHO Cohort award and an Early-Stage Investigator on two multicenter NIH awards (NHLBI ENRICH and NIH ECHO ISPCTN).

Dr. Serrano is a member of the Society for Pediatric Research.
