I have been a primary care pediatrician for over 25 years. I chose to serve children in a low-income, hospital-based clinic in an academic setting due to my insatiable curiosity, my eagerness to teach and learn from others, and my devotion to caring for the under-served. My career has been dedicated to improving the lives of children living in poverty through research, improvements to clinical care, and education.
I have been focused on promoting pediatric literacy and healthy development, addressing social determinants of health in the primary care setting, and targeting the enormous burden of disease due to pediatric obesity through research and improved care in our clinic.
