Assistant Professor of Health Services, Policy and Practice

Overview

Dr. Nisha Trivedi is an Assistant Professor of Health Services, Policy, and Practice in the Teaching Scholar track at Brown University School of Public Health. She earned her ScB and MD at Brown and her MPH in global health at Harvard School of Public Health. She is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist having completed anesthesia residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and pain medicine fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Combining her clinical background with her love of teaching, Dr. Trivedi joined the Brown faculty in 2013 as an adjunct lecturer and taught the first-year seminar, PHP0050- Pain and the Human Condition: Exploring the Science, Medicine, and Culture of Pain, from 2013 to 2019. At the request of the Provost’s office in 2021, Dr. Trivedi developed and taught PHP0200- Perspectives in World Health specifically for Brown’s cohort of Afghan students from the Asian University for Women and Ghalib University. With a focus on undergraduate education and advising, Dr. Trivedi is currently the course instructor for PHP0060- Complexities and Challenges of Global Health , PHP0720- Public Health and the Environment, and PHP1910- Public Health Senior Seminar.
