To foster greater knowledge, teaching and research on the cultures, societies, history, politics, economics, environment, languages and contemporary problems of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at Brown University serves as the hub for research and teaching related to Latin America and the Caribbean. Through a full schedule of lectures, seminars, conferences, films, concerts, and other events, CLACS promotes dialogue on academic, socio-political, economic, and cultural matters related to Latin America at all levels of the university and beyond.
