Dr. Sprinz is a graduate of Aberdeen University, Scotland. Shortly after graduating from medical school, Dr. Sprinz moved with her husband to the US (for her husband's postgraduate work). Following a residency in Pediatrics and a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, both at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami, Miami Florida, Dr Sprinz worked to establish a full-service pediatric hematology/oncology program in what became Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital at Memorial, in Hollywood, South Florida. In 2000, Dr. Sprinz and her family moved to New England - where she has practiced ever since, working with a particular interest in sickle cell disease. Shortly after moving to NE Dr. Sprinz took over the leadership of the New England Pediatric Sickle Cell Consortium - and believes that this has been her most significant contribution professionally. Dr. Sprinz currently is an attending physician and the senior benign hematologist at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, RI.
