Rozaleen Aleyadeh, MD is a Vascular Neurology-trained neurohospitalist at Rhode Island Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Aleyadeh completed her Neurology residency training at the University of Massachusetts, where she served as Chief Resident with primary focus on education, and completed fellowship training in Vascular Neurology at Brown University. She earned her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medicine–Qatar.
She is passionate about medical education, patient care, and clinical research, with a particular interest in developing engaging and effective approaches to medical education. She has contributed to medical student teaching and curriculum development at UMass Chan Medical School, as well as residency teaching at Brown University.
Her clinical and research interests include acute stroke care and secondary stroke prevention, post-stroke seizures, cognitive and functional outcomes after stroke, and spatial neglect. Her research has included studies examining the effects of reperfusion therapies on early post-stroke seizures, neuroanatomic predictors of recovery from spatial neglect, and the relationship between small vessel disease and outcomes following cervicocerebral artery dissection. She has also conducted research in neurodegenerative disease, including studies of synucleinopathies and manganese-induced neuronal toxicity.
Dr. Aleyadeh is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Medical Association, American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Massachusetts Medical Society. She has presented her research at national and institutional meetings and has published in journals including Journal of the Neurological Sciences, Frontiers in Neurology, Current Treatment Options in Neurology, and Biomolecules.
