Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior

Overview

Selby Conrad, Ph.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Brown University Warren Alpert Medical School and Staff Psychologist with Rhode Island Hospital Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Bradley/Hasbro Children's Research Center. She earned her graduate degree in Counseling Psychology at The University of Kansas and completed her predoctoral internship at the Boston Consortium in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Conrad completed two postdoctoral fellowships through the Brown University Psychology Training Consortium focused clinical and research training: Adolescent HIV Prevention and HIV and Other Infectious Consequences of Substance Use.  Clinically she has worked with high-risk youth and their families in a variety of settings including the juvenile justice system.  She co-directs the Substance Abuse Treatment Team at the Rhode Island Training School and conducts forensic mental health evaluations for juvenile justice involved youth.  She is actively involved in research and her interests include the intersection of trauma, substance use, high risk behaviors and gender for juvenile justice involved youth.
