Overview

Stephanie Jo Czech, Ph.D. is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and also of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. She is the Director, Division of Behavioral Health, in the Department of Family Medicine at Memorial Hospital, where she provides training and education to family medicine residents and psychology residents, fellows, and social work students; integrated behavioral health patient care; research in primary care; and leadership and advocacy for behavioral health initiatives. Stephanie received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Brown University, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Suffolk University. She completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Primary Care Behavioral Health at the Providence VA Medical Center through the Brown Alpert Medical School Clinical Psychology Training Consortium. Stephanie has clinical and research interests in brief interventions for the primary care setting, particularly mindfulness- and acceptance-based behavioral therapies. Research interests also involve stress, anxiety, and mood disorders, and their relation to medical illness.
