Dr. Kostadinov graduated medical school from the Faculty of Medicine, Trakia University in the city of Stara Zagora in Bulgaria. He completed his anatomical and clinical pathology residency at Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, New York from 1999 to 2003 and a fellowship in Pediatric and Perinatal pathology at Riley Hospital for Children and Indiana University Medical School between 2003 and 2004. In 2004 Dr Kostadinov joined the Division of Perinatal pathology at Women & Infants Hospital and was appointed an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Kostadinov is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in both Anatomical and Pediatric pathology.
His research interests are in the field of fetal and placental pathology, particularly fetal growth restriction, stillbirth, related placental abnormalities and their clinical correlates.
Dr. Kostadinov has an extensive teaching involvement with teaching activities involving medical students, as well as pathology, pediatric, obstetric and gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine and neonatology residents and fellows. He is currently the Director of Don B. Singer Fellowship in Developmental and Perinatal Pathology at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
