Dr. Maleki is an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a cytopathologist and surgical pathologist at Lifespan Academic Medical Center. She obtained her medical degree at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran in 2006, and completed her residency training and Surgical Pathology Fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 2010 to 2014, where she received awards for her teaching, followed by fellowships in cytology (Montefiore) and oncologic surgical pathology (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center). Dr. Maleki is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Before coming to Lifespan and Brown, Dr. Maleki was an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Maleki has a particular interest in community outreach (CAP Foundation See, Test & Treat Program), quality improvement, and resident training including development of team-based educational tools. She has expertise in the correlation between cytology and surgical pathology diagnoses, and the implementation of personalized medicine from limited sampling of tumors.
