Assistant Professor of Medicine (Research)

Overview

Dr. Wen is an Assistant Professor (Research) of Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University within the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Rhode Island Hospital. He is also working as a Director of the Extracellular Vesicle Core at COBRE Center for Stem Cells and Aging in Rhode Island Hospital.  His research focuses on extracellular vesicle biology and hematopoietic stem cell biology. Currently, he is studying the biological functions of extracellular vesicles, focusing on the role of mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles in the reversal of radiation damage on hematopoietic stem cells and the digestive system. He also is investigating the clinical significance and mechanism of action of extracellular vesicles in oncology patients with leukemia or lung carcinoma.
