Overview

Dr. Empkie joined the Dept of Family Medicine in 1984. He was Director of Predoctoral Education and coordinated medical student exchanges between Brown and German universities in Rostock and Tuebingen until 1993.

1993-2002: leave-of-absence, Project HOPE (int'l health education foundation), Regional Director, Central and Eastern Europe, Prague, Czech Republic.
