Dr. Tanuja Gandhi, M.D., FAPA, is an Associate Professor Clinical Educator of Psychiatry at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She completed her subspecialty fellowship training in forensic psychiatry from Yale School of Medicine's Division of Law and Psychiatry and in child psychiatry from the Yale Child Study Center. Currently, she works as an attending psychiatrist at Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital and does outpatient forensic psychiatric evaluations.
Dr. Gandhi has held leadership positions across national and regional professional organizations currently chairing APA's National Membership Committee, serves as President of the International Medical Graduate Caucus, serves as President of the of the Indo-American Psychiatric Association and is Past President of the Rhode Island Psychiatric Society. She has contributed to numerous APA national resource documents and position statements. She is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and was inducted as a Member of the American College of Psychiatrists.
A dedicated educator, Dr. Gandhi teaches fellows in Brown's Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship, and residents in the Triple Board and General Psychiatry Residency Programs.
She is also a familiar voice in the community on children's mental health, having appeared regularly on regional outlets including WPRI, NBC 10, and Rhode Island PBS, and co-hosted Bradley Hospital's "Mindcast" podcast. Her scholarship and public commentary center on forensic psychiatry and child and adolescent mental health.
