Assistant Professor of Health Services, Policy and Practice (Research)

Overview

Dr. Whitney L. Mills is an Assistant Professor of Health Services, Policy and Practice (Research) in the School of Public Health at Brown University and an Investigator in the Center for Innovation in Long-Term Services and Supports at the Providence VA Medical Center. She obtained her PhD in Aging Studies from the University of South Florida and completed a VA Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Services Research at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston.  Dr. Mills has a long-standing interest in improving the quality of life for older adults using long-term services and supports and expertise in qualitative and implementation science methods. Her work focuses on developing and testing interventions to improve nursing home quality, transitions of care, and assessment of decision-making capacity.
