Dr. De Vito is a research scientist and licensed neuropsychologist at the Butler Hospital Memory and Aging Program. She completed her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (Neuropsychology Track) at Louisiana State University. She completed her residency training in the Brown University Neuropsychology Track and remained at Brown to complete a research fellowship with a focus on Alzheimer's disease (AD) before joining the Department of Psychiatry & Human Behavior as faculty in 2023. She is a member of the Digital Assessment for Neurodegenerative Disease Detection Improvement (DANDI) Lab at Brown.
Her research focuses on leveraging digital tools to improve the early identification and disease monitoring of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) with an emphasis on passive monnitoring using personal digitial devices such as smartphones and smartwatches. Her current work is funded by a K23 Award from the National Institute on Aging. The main aim of this work is to identify and validate digital markers of affective neuropsychiatric symptoms (i.e., anxiety, depression, irritability) in those at risk for AD/ADRD.
Dr. De Vito also serves as a co-investigator on several NIH/NIA and foundation-funded studies that investigate cost-effective methods for the early detection of ADRD, including the use of retinal imaging and plasma biomarkers.
