Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior

Overview

My research focuses on examining trajectories of cognitive decline, and what factors alter said trajectory. I use latent variable modeling, such asĀ  item response theory and growth curve modeling, to examine these trajectories. Areas I am particularly interested in studying to see if they alter the trajectory of cognitive decline are delirium, depression, and sleep disorders.

I also serve as the Assistant Director of the Quantitative Science Program within the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior to provide consultation and training in research design, data analysis, and coding. I received a Ph.D. in Behavioral Science and M.S. in Statistics from the University of Rhode Island, as well as a M.P.H. with focus in biostatistics from Brown University. I completed an investigator-funded postdoctoral fellowship at Brown University where my work focused on measurement, item response theory, and the trajectory of cognitive decline after surgery and postoperative delirium.
