Overview

Ankur Shah, MD MPH is Associate Chief for Research, Nephrology Fellowship Program Director, and Medical Director for Peritoneal Dialysis in the Davita North-Providence program in the Division of Kidney Disease and Hypertension at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is an expert in home dialysis (both PD and HHD) and the intersection of planetary health and kidney disease, areas in which he is well published and has lectured both nationally and internationally. His research is supported by NIGMS, AHRQ, Advance-CTR, Brown Physicians Inc, Rhode Island Life Science Hub, and the SURDNA Foundation. He is also a decorated educator having received numerous teaching awards at Brown and is a past winner of the American Society of Nephrology’s innovations in kidney education contest. He serves on various committees of the ASN, RPA, and ISPD including as Chair of the ISPD Early Career Committee and the ISPD-NAC Policy Committee.
