Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine

Overview

Carolyn Pearce MD, MPH is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree in Public Health Studies from Johns Hopkins University in 2011 and her medical degree from Loma Linda University in 2018. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Ventura County Medical Center in 2021. Carolyn subsequently joined the Department of Family Medicine at Brown University as a Global Health Faculty Development Fellow in 2021 and completed her fellowship and Master in Public Health degree at Brown in 2023. She currently practices full spectrum family medicine at Blackstone Valley Community Health Care in Pawtucket and Central Falls, Rhode Island with a particular focus obstetrical care. She is also an attending physician on the Family Medicine- Obstetrics Teaching Service at Women and Infants Hospital. She spends two months of the year abroad with the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH), currently one of the largest academic global health collaborations.  

Clinically, her interests include reproductive health, obstetrics, global health and point of care ultrasound. Her research interests include specialist supported primary care models in delivery of obstetrical care and point of care ultrasound education and use in primary care and inpatient settings.
