Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine

Overview

Dr. Odinaka Anyanwu is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and the Assistant Director of the Global Health Faculty Development Fellowship. She completed her residency at the University of Texas Southwestern and went on to complete both the Global Health and Maternal Child Health Fellowships at Brown. She recently completed an NIH T32 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship focused on equity-driven global health research and academic–community partnerships.

Dr. Anyanwu’s work centers on advancing equity in maternal health and global health systems. She has led mixed-methods and qualitative studies examining global health education and obstetrical care experiences, generating insights to inform more equitable, community-centered models of care. Her work also includes qualitative research with Kenyan partners exploring how equity is defined and operationalized in global health collaborations. Her current work focuses on integrating point-of-care ultrasound and implementation strategies to strengthen maternal health systems and advance equitable partnerships across settings.
