I work (mostly) in metaphysics and philosophy of science: lately, I've been thinking about explanation, reduction, laws of nature, locality, and the place of ontology in scientific theorizing.
I'm involved with the Physics and Philosophy concentration at Brown, so these days I teach (mainly) in philosophy of physics, philosophy of science, and metaphysics. In the past, I've also taught in general epistemology and metaphysics, the history of philosophy, logic, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of religion.
