Overview

Dr. Tremont's has expertise in the assessment and psychosocial intervention patients and families faced with cognitive impairment and dementia. He served as PI on  projects related to developing the Family Intervention: Telephone Tracking – Caregiver (FITT-C), a telephone intervention to reduce burden and depression associated with caregiving for individuals with dementia. The most recent project translated the FITT-C and yoga/meditation interventions into a mobile health application and conducted feasibility and pilot testing. Another line of research is focused on using digital cognitive screening, passive monitoring, and other accessible techniques to identify early cognitive impairment in older adults. He has collaborated closely with computer scientists, engineers, and other social scientists on these projects.  Other areas of interest include health behavior interventions for individuals at risk for dementia and Alzheimer's disease and early detection of cognitive impairment in older adults. Dr. Tremont currently conducts outpatient neuropsychological evaluations, consults on research related to cognitive screening, Alzheimer's disease detection, and the use of technology in cognitive testing.
