Overview

Dr. Margolis earned his Ph.D. from Yeshiva University, completed his predoctoral neuropsychology internship at the University of California San Diego and did his postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Brown University. He is board certified in clinical neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Dr. Margolis is a staff neuropsychologist at Brown University Health, where he specializes in disorders of aging, epilepsy, and the impact of chronic illness on patients’ cognition and behavior. Dr. Margolis performs neuropsychological evaluations for diagnostic and treatment planning purposes and is a consulting member of the Alzheimer’s Disease and Memory Disorders Center, the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program, the Comprehensive Brain Tumor Program, and the Transplant Center at Rhode Island Hospital. He is a clinical supervisor for Brown’s APA-accredited clinical psychology internship training program and APA-accredited postdoctoral training program in neuropsychology. 

Dr. Margolis is a principal and co-investigator on several research studies addressing neuropsychological and psychosocial aspects of health behavior, health outcomes, and functional capacities in clinical populations. He co-directs the Researching Everyday Activities of Living (REAL) Lab, in which he provides research mentorship to neuropsychology trainees within the Brown system. 

A committed advocate and ambassador for neuropsychology, Dr. Margolis has assumed various committee positions within the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN), International Neuropsychological Society (INS), and the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN). He is a current Co-Chair of the INS Epilepsy Special Interest Group. In acknowledgment of his service to the profession, Dr. Margolis was the 2023 recipient of NAN's Early Career Service Award.
