Assistant Professor of Medicine, Clinician Educator

Overview

Dr. Wice is an assistant professor of Medicine and joined the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine in 2021. He went to Boston University for medical school along with completing his internal medicine residency at Boston University. He than completed dual fellowships in Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. After fellowship he worked at Mount Sinai as a hospitalist for the Hospital at Home program and as an outpatient geriatrics primary care and palliative care physician for the Sinai Faculty Practice seeing patients at NYC HHC/Elmhurst Hospital. At Brown he has many roles including co-managing the Surgical Oncology Co-Management service at RIH, nursing home care and primary care for assisted living patients at Tockwotton Home and Saint Elizabeth's Home, geriatric and palliative medicine attending at the Providence VA under the Geriatrics and Extended Care Department, PCP at PACE-RI and being a hospice medical director at Hope Hospice. Furthermore, academically he is the director of the geriatric and palliative medicine rotation for residents and is a core faculty member of the internal medicine residency program. Furthermore, he is the site director for the Providence VA for the Brown Geriatric and Palliative Medicine fellowships. His research interest includes graduate medical education and expanding the integration of geriatrics and palliative care. In addition, he is part of the research collaberation at the Providence VA Cener of Innovation in Long Term Services and Supports.
