Rob van Aalst, MSc, PhD is a real-world evidence (RWE) expert at Sanofi Vaccines. Rob collaborates with academic partners such as Brown to improve the use of real-world data to inform public health stakeholders and vaccine developers. His work has led to numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations on influenza disease burden, risk factor analysis and influenza vaccine effectiveness. His recent work focuses on estimating the burden of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in infants and the transportation and generalization of results from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to target populations captured in real-world data such as insurance claims data.
