Connie Scozzaro was born in London. She received a B.A. from The University of Cambridge, an M.A. from The University of Sussex, and a PhD from Johns Hopkins. She joined Brown in 2020 as an Assistant Professor of English.
Scozzaro is a specialist in Renaissance literature and culture, with a focus on the history of sexuality, law, feminist studies, and queer studies. Scozzaro is currently preparing her first book project, Ecstatic Force: Violation and Inwardness in Early Modern England. Articles have appeared, or are forthcoming, in Shakespeare Quarterly, Modern Language Quarterly, and Exemplaria.
