Connie Scozzaro was born in London. She received a B.A. from The University of Cambridge, an M.A. from The University of Sussex, and a PhD from Johns Hopkins. She joined Brown in 2020 as an Assistant Professor of English.
Scozzaro is a specialist in Renaissance literature and culture, with a focus on the history of sexuality, law, feminist studies, and queer studies. Scozzaro's first book, The Golden Thorn: Complaint and Consent in Early Modern England is forthcoming from Fordham University Press (2026). Articles have appeared, or are forthcoming, in Shakespeare Quarterly, Modern Language Quarterly, Exemplaria, Modern Philology, and Renaissance Drama.
