Associate Director the Center for Advancing Health Policy Through Research, Assistant Professor of Health Services, Policy and Practice

Overview

David J Meyers, PhD, MPH, is a health services researcher and health economist who studies payment and delivery reform with a focus on the Medicare program. His current research focuses include Medicare Advantage payment policy, provider networks and quality ratings; integrated care plans for dually eligible beneficiaries; vertical integration of providers and insurers; and the experiences of Transgender beneficiaries in the Medicare program. His work is supported by the National Institute on Aging, the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and Arnold Ventures.

As the Associate Director of Brown's Center for Advancing Health Policy Through Research (CAHPR), he is committed to translating research results into policy action. He is the Director of Brown's PhD in Health Services Research. He is also a Senior Advisor to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) on the Medicare Advantage program.

David earned a PhD in Health Services Research with a concentration in Health Economics from the Brown University School of Public Health, and a MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Tufts University School of Medicine. Prior to his doctoral training, he worked in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health.
