Professor of Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry (Research)

Overview

Throughout Dr. Jill Kreiling’s scientific career she has actively pursued a research program focused on fundamental aspects of human health. She originally trained in the fields of microbiology and molecular biology in Dr. Nyles Charon’s laboratory at West Virginia University. She performed postdoctoral research in the field of developmental neurotoxicology in affiliation with Dr. Carol Reinisch at the Marine Biological Laboratory. In 2006 she was appointed to the rank of Assistant Professor (Research) at Brown University. She is currently a Professor (Research) and the Associate Director for Program Development of the Center on the Biology of Aging. Her research focuses on identifying biomarkers of Alzheimer’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease, the roles of miRNA regulation of neurodegeneration, and repurposing of FDA approved drugs to treat Alzheimer’s disease.
