Professor Snyder teaches and coaches graduate students in the English Master of Arts in Teaching Program to become impactful public school educators in Providence and Central Falls public schools and beyond. She teaches cohort-wide courses in integrating culturally responsive teaching, deeper learning, and technology across the curriculum. Her undergraduate courses attract students from across the University and integrate literacy, adolescent literature, drama and humanities education. As a strong advocate of practice based education, Professor Snyder integrates engaged scholarship, curriculum development, and classroom experiences into graduate and undergraduate education. Professor Snyder received a master's degree in English from the Breadloaf School of English at Middlebury College and received doctoral training at the University of California, Berkeley. She brings both K-12 teaching and administrative experience to her work with students at Brown. During the summer, Professor Snyder directs Brown Summer High School, the professional development and enrichment program of the Master of Arts in Teaching Program.
