Dr. Margaret Crane is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior in the Brown Research on Implementation and Dissemination to Guide Evidence Use (BRIDGE) program.
Dr. Crane received her B.A. in psychology from Harvard University, her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Temple University, and her clinical psychology residency at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medicine. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Crane’s research examines strategies to disseminate and implement evidence-based practices for mental health. She approaches this by considering how to increase the supply and demand of effective treatments. She researches business models, financing strategies, and policies to fund mental health treatments. Her research also uses direct-to-consumer marketing and dissemination strategies to help patients access treatment. She has a growing expertise in the implementation of digital mental health interventions. Her work has been funded by the NIMH (F31 and K08) and by the Annie E Casey Foundation. She is the recipient of two highly competitive NIH-funded fellowships: the Child Intervention, Prevention and Services (CHIPS) fellowship, to enhance career development for early career scientists; and the Implementation Research Institute (IRI) Fellowship, to advance the science and develop leaders in the field of mental health implementation research.
Clinically, Dr. Crane is a licensed child psychologist with expertise in treating youth anxiety and working with caregivers of youth with a variety of psychological and behavioral difficulties. She is passionate about amplifying consumer and patient perspectives in both clinical and implementation science research.
