Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior

Overview

Dr. Margaret Crane is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior in the Brown Research on Implementation and Dissemination to Guide Evidence Use (BRIDGE) program.

Dr. Crane received her B.A. in psychology from Harvard University, her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Temple University, and her clinical psychology residency at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medicine. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Crane’s research examines strategies to disseminate evidence-based practices (EBPs) for mental health. She approaches this by considering how to increase the supply of EBPs through business models to disseminate and policies to fund these programs, as well as how to increase patient demand of EBPs. Her research has been funded by the NIMH (F31 and K08) and by the Annie E Casey foundation.

Clinically, Dr. Crane is a licensed child psychologist with expertise in treating youth anxiety and working with caregivers of youth with a variety of psychological and behavioral difficulties. She is passionate about amplifying consumer and patient perspectives in both clinical and implementation science research.
