Senior Lecturer in English

Overview

Michael Stewart is a senior lecturer in the nonfiction writing program. For the last decade, he has encouraged students to think creatively and experiment with new forms of writing. He is the author of four books, including The Hieroglyphics and A Brief Encyclopedia of Modern Magic. Recipient of the 2022 Rhode Island Council for the Arts Fellowships in both fiction and poetry, his work has been published in a variety of journals and anthologies, including Conjunctions, American Letters & Commentary, and Fence. Currently, he is working on a bricolage of essays, poems, and images about seeing and seeming.
