Professor of Medical Science, Professor of Pediatrics, Professor of Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry (Research)

Overview

Following medical school, I pursued clinical training in pediatrics. It was during my residency that I became interested in biomedical research. This led to a metabolism fellowship, clinical training in metabolism and pediatric endocrinology, and a research focus on mechanisms that regulate somatic growth. My laboratory had continuous NIH funding since from 1983 to 2023. I served as a graduate program trainer from 1995 to 2022 (MCB, Pathobiology, MPPB). In July of 2023, I entered (nearly complete) retirement and closed my laboratory.
