Assistant Professor of Medicine

Overview

Dr. Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Alpert Medical School of Brown University and have been a research biologist in the Ocean State Research Institute at the Providence VA Medical Center since January 2020, before which Dr. Zhang was an investigator (postdoc and then junior faculty) at the Cardiovascular Research Center (CVRC) of Rhode Island Hospital. Dr. Zhang's research interests concentrated on cardiovascular remodeling and signaling pathway cascades in response to hemodynamic stress, with a particular focus on cellular functions and the underlying regulatory mechanisms. The long-term goal of Dr. Zhang's studies is to advance understanding of the signaling mechanisms that determine cardiopulmonary function and may provide new opportunities for treatment and prevention of various cardiopulmonary diseases.
