Dr. Sun got her M.D. And M.S. from Guiyang Medical Collage in China and Ph.D. from Karolinska Institute in Sweden, followed by postdoctoral fellowship training at Penn State College of Hershey Medical School.
Her research interest includes the differentiation of mesenchymal and epithelial phenotype of mesothelioma, chondrocyte differentiation, and molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways important in cell growth, progression, and metastasis in bone tumor (chondrosarcoma).
Her research focuses on identifying specific molecular targets (genes and microRNAs) which are dis-regulated in Chondrosarcoma and most recently on possible translational therapeutics in chondrosarcoma growth, angiogenesis, and metastasis.
