Managed care updates of subscriber justice system involvement for suicide prevention
NIMH
The goal of this study is to help a managed care organization ensure that their subscribers are connected to needed community care following jail release and to minimize disruptions of any existing care due to jail detention. Several evidence-based suicide approaches are tested to determine whether there are any effects on subsequent healthcare related suicide events.

Developing a Computational Approach for Identifying Suicidal Ideation and Behavior using the Electronic Health Record
NIGMS (Advance-CTR)
The goals of this study are to develop procedures for creating a suicide database and leverage data from the electronic health record to test classification algorithms for identifying suicidal ideation and suicide attempt cases.

The National Center for Health and Justice Integration for Suicide Prevention
NIMH
The National Center for Health and Justice Integration for Suicide Prevention (NCHATS): (1) uses contact with the justice system (e.g., police contact, court involvement, arrest) as an indicator of suicide risk in the general population; (2) demonstrates how big data systems that efficiently track publicly available data on justice involvement can be linked to health system records to identify individuals at risk for suicide and connect them to community care; and (3) examines effectiveness and scalability of suicide prevention approaches using these methods.

NIMH
The Center for Accelerating Practices to End Suicide through Technology Translation (CAPES)
aims to identify the best evidence-based suicide care technologies and study them systematically to identify key strategies for maximizing their translation to clinical care so they can be more effectively used for suicide prevention.

Skills to enhance positivity (STEP) for adolescents at risk for suicide
NIMH
The goals of this study are to examine a multi-modal positive affect intervention involving in-person sessions delivered during an inpatient admission as well as messages delivered via app post-discharge, to adolescents admitted due to suicide risk, to determine whether the program is effective in reducing suicide events; and to examine whether the program is feasible and acceptable to administer in real world settings, as well as whether there are barriers to implementation.
