Dr. Preeti Sunderaraman is the Director of Research and a licensed clinical neuropsychologist in the Memory and Aging Program at Butler Honbspital. Prior to joining Butler Hospital, she was a faculty member in the Department of Neurology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and at Brain Aging Program in the Framingham Heart Study. Dr. Sunderaraman received her PhD from Drexel University, Philadelphia and completed her neuropsychology internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She completed postdoctoral training at Columbia University Medical Center with an emphasis on aging and neurodegeneration.
She is actively involved in leadership positions in various committees including as the co-Chair of International Neuropsychological Society’s (INS) Teleneuropsychology and Digital Technologies Special Interest Group (SIG), and as a core member of Indian SIG, part of Asian Neuropsychological Association. Previously, she was the Science Officer of the Early Career Neuropsychologist Committee, a committee member of the INS’s Awards committee, as the program chair of the INS's Teleneuropsychology and Digital Technologies SIG, and the National Academy of Neuropsychology’s Clinical Research Grants Committee, among others.
Dr. Sunderaraman has obtained several federal- and foundation level grants including NIH/NIA’s (K99/R00) Pathway to Independence Award, Alzheimer's Association Research Grant NIH/NIA’s Ruth L. Kirschstein Postdoctoral Individual National Research Service Award (F32), the Foundation for Rehabilitation Psychology’s Dissertation Award, and the National Academy of Neuropsychology’s Clinical Research Grant.
She has published several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in highly rated journals.
