Brett Douglas Owens Professor of Orthopaedics

Dr. Owens is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Brown and Chief of Sports Medicine at Miram Hospital. He is a board certified orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon whose clinical practice focuses on complex knee, shoulder and cartilage surgeries. Dr. Owens is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship at West Point. Before coming to Brown University, Dr. Owens was Chief of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He is Associate Editor for the American Journal of Sports Medicine and is currently the Director of Sports Medicine Research at Brown.
