Professor of Orthopaedics

Overview

Dr. Owens is Vice Chair and Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Brown and Chief of Sports Medicine at Brown University Health. He is a board certified orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon whose clinical practice focuses on complex knee, shoulder, and cartilage injuries. Dr. Owens is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at West Point. Before coming to Brown University, Dr. Owens was Chief of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He is Editor-in-Chief for the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
